Thoughts of a Fundy Kid

The most important thing to me in life is my walk with God. There is nothing else that can take precedence over that. I was raised in a Christian household, baptized when I was in the 8th grade, when God truly revealed His loving kindness to me.

I like to call myself a Fundy Kid, because I grew up in the conservative church (fundamentalist). This identity is something I fully embrace. I prescribe to the conservative church’s ideals of God, that He is the ultimate pursuer, and that in Him is found true grace and happiness. Not only this, but that Jesus is THE way to Christ.

I would love to say that this blog was created to talk about how loving my God is. He is good, and He is gracious. These two facts are undeniable! I, however, am constantly faced with the ugly side of Christendom, where grace and freedom give way to legalism. More and more I hear preachers shouting and yelling at congregants from the pulpit, preaching truth that does not come from the bible. This blog is my answer to these teachings.

My main purpose in writing this blog is that it can be a forum for me to discuss cultural topics in the church, and voice concerns for different theologies which stray from biblical teaching. I am hopeful that discussions will be respectful, and that we can learn to disagree without being disagreeable.

Thank you!
